An important part of my job is providing parents with resources on topics such as behaviour management, child development, childcare information and parenting support available in the surrounding area. I have an abundance of resourses on everything from crafts to behaviour management at your disposal, including workshops like "1-2-3 Magic".
Emergency Childcare exists to support CF members when called to duty on short notice. We direct parents to affordable and regulated childcare when situations arise.
If you have questions regarding any of these child services programs, please don't hesitate to contact me. My office hours are Monday/Wednesday, 1:00 pm-9:00 pm and Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 7:30 am-3:30 pm.
Programs Offered through Child Services:
Kiddie Kare
This is a center that is run for parents and their children between the ages of newborn and 3 years of age. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 11:40am with Monday and Wednesday afternoon available until 2:30pm as requested by the parents. Parents may register their child for a regular spot, or if space permits, they can use the drop-in service. Please call ahead. Kiddie Kare will run a mini-summer camp for children age 2.5-4 yrs in the event that 'Little Gophers Preschool' closes over the summer vacation.
Lunch Program
This program is offered at the school for children who stay for lunch. Adequate supervision ensures the children's safety and well-being during the noon hour.
Pre & Post Care
Through this program, children enjoy crafts, games, movies, sports and lots of fun. It is offered from 7am to 8:30am and from after school to 5pm for children who attend school. The program also offers a canteen with snacks and drinks.
Summer Day Camp
Offered throughout the summer for ages 5-8, this program is filled with activities such as swimming, crafts, games, sports, fieldtrips and cooperative play. The program offers children a safe and fun environment in which to spend time with their friends, make new ones, and learn new skills.
Emergency Childcare Service
This service enhances the childcare plans which members already have in place. The emergency may result from unexpected deployment where the member will not have time to implement their regular childcare plan. The emergency may also result from medical or other problems that a spouse or caregiver may encounter while the member is deployed, that disrupts usual care arranagements.
